Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about caring for and cooking with American-made cast iron.

Does my new Lodge cast iron cookware need to be seasoned before first use?

No, all Lodge cast iron cookware comes pre-seasoned with 100% natural vegetable oil and is ready to use right out of the box. Simply give it a quick rinse with hot water and dry it thoroughly before your first meal.

How do I clean my cast iron skillet without damaging the seasoning?

Wash your cookware by hand using a small amount of mild soap and a stiff brush. Dry immediately and completely with a lint-free cloth or paper towel, then rub with a very light layer of cooking oil while the hardware is still warm.

What is your return policy for items purchased online?

We offer a 30-day return policy for unused items in their original packaging. Please note that customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the item arrived damaged or defective.

Can I use Lodge cast iron on a glass-top stove?

Yes, Lodge cast iron is compatible with glass stovetops. We recommend lifting the cookware rather than sliding it across the surface to prevent scratching, and always ensure the bottom of the pan is clean.

How long will it take for my order to ship?

Standard orders typically process within 2-3 business days. Once shipped, delivery usually takes 3-7 business days depending on your location within the continental United States.

Is Lodge cookware manufactured in the USA?

All of our seasoned cast iron and carbon steel products are proudly manufactured in South Pittsburg, Tennessee. Our enameled cast iron line is designed in the USA and manufactured in China to our strict quality specifications.
